ECG’s (Electrocardiogram )

An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a simple test. It is used to check your heart’s rhythm and electrical activity. Sensors attached to the skin detect the electrical signals produced by your heart each time it beats. These signals are recorded by a machine and are looked at by our doctor to see if they’re unusual. A heart specialist (cardiologist) may ask you to have an ECG if they think you might have a problem with your heart. The test can be carried out by a trained healthcare professional at a hospital or clinic.

Cryotherapy

Local cryotherapy is a cryostimulation treatment that increases blood flow to injured or sore muscles and joints. Extreme cold applied to the injured area stimulates oxygenated blood flow, reducing tension and inflammation. Immediately following treatment, the natural analgesic effect caused by cryostimulation reduces tension and allows treated muscles to relax. Post-treatment, participants often report stronger muscles and joints, increased tolerance to strenuous exercise, and boosted athletic performance.

We offer over 60 different blood profiles such as: Hormone, Glucose, Cholesterol, Calcium, Cardiac Enzymes, C-Reactive Protein (CRP), Folate, Vitamin D, Vitamin B-12, Full Blood Count (FBC), HbA1c (Diabetes profile), Kidney Function, Liver Function, Magnesium, Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) Thyroid Function Test, Testosterone and more

Personalised Supplementation Plans

Having a customised nutrition and supplement plan is essentially giving your body the best care and fuel possible. Customised nutrition isn’t about figuring out what to eat so you can lose weight, be more active, or eat healthy despite a busy lifestyle. It’s about taking a deep dive into what makes you who you are, and creating a one-of-a-kind nutrition plan for your genes, your health needs, your goals, and your life. With a nutrition plan designed just for you you’ll be more motivated, healthier, and have a much better chance of sticking with your new eating habits for the long haul. At Mareto, we have created a range of clinical grade supplements to help you to look and feel your best.

Functional Nutrition Plans

Functional nutrition is the practice of considering every aspect of health, diet, and overall lifestyle when giving nutrition recommendations. It aligns with the ideologies of functional medicine. Functional medicine follows an approach to health care that takes into consideration how interrelated every part of the body is. This strategy seeks to look at the big picture of health by restoring physiological functioning. With functional nutrition, symptoms are seen as clues for managing your primary health issues, whether they are related to diet, illnesses, medications, lifestyle factors, exposure to toxins, antibiotic use, or other factors.

Childhood Nutrition

We provide support and education for children and their families where there are identified nutritional issues or specific conditions that may require dietary advice or nutrition support such as: Allergies & intolerance, Weight management, Fussy eating, Autism & restricted intake, Weaning advice, Cows’ milk protein allergy, Growth concerns, Feeding your infant, Coeliac Disease, Constipation and Inflammatory Bowel disease.

Weight Loss Medication

The first step is to come in for consultation in our clinic. At the first appointment you can expect: to have bloods taken, to complete a health questionnaire, to have a full body analysis using our in-house metabolic body analyser. At the second appointment your blood test results will be reviewed by our doctor. Our functional nutritionist will discuss weight management strategies. And if you are a suitable candidate the medication will be prescribed by our doctor. You will have monthly reviews to check your progress and to see if adjustments to diet or medication need to be made review by a GP.

Functional Movement Screening

Functional movement is a movement sequence based on real-world situations. They are any movements you perform in multiple planes of motion with multiple joints to help you accomplish things more efficiently. Functional movements vary from person to person, based on your age and the activities you pursue. But common functional movements include things like sitting down, standing up, walking, tying shoes, and bending down to pick something up off the floor. In other words, functional movements are the things you do during your day to help you accomplish essential tasks.

A deeply personal patient experience.

While standard healthcare will try to suppress these symptoms with medication, functional nutrition and functional medicine see them as clues for understanding the underlying issues within the body. By considering the impacts of seemingly unrelated factors on health, our functional nutritionist will put together a holistic health plan that takes every aspect of health into consideration.

Think about the movements required to put on your shoes in the morning. You have to be able to cross your legs, bend forward to put the shoe on, and balance while sitting without hand support. Each one of these movements make up the functional movement of putting on shoes. As the above example illustrates, functional movement is essential because difficulty with any of the parts required for a specific functional movement can cause great difficulty in managing crucial tasks. Knowing what tasks are difficult for you in your day can help you pinpoint the functional movements or parts of the movement you should work on.
